Dengue (pronounced DEN-gay) fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. People get the dengue virus from mosquitoes. Dengue fever is also called break-bone fever. Symptoms include high fever, headaches, vomiting, loss of appetite, nausea, a rash and pain in the muscles and joints.

There is no vaccine that can prevent people from getting dengue. There is also no treatment or cure. Doctors can only treat the symptoms of dengue. Early diagnosis and drinking fluids help.

Do not allow water to collect in buckets and containers. Apply mosquito repellent to all exposed areas of the body.  Grow tulsi in a pot. It is said to drive away mosquitoes.

Example : one mosquito— many mosquitoes

 But         one radio—–two radios

One tomato—- a dozen tomatoes

One potato—- many potatoes

But: One studio—two studios
