The quote of the week: All doors open to courtesy.Passage:
A wise man was sitting outside his village.
A traveller came up to him and asked him “What kind of people live in this village? I’m planning to move to a new village.”
The wise man asked, “What kind of people live in your present village?”
The traveller replied, ” They are mean, rude and cruel.”
The wise man said “The same kind of people live here too.”
After a while another traveller came by and asked the wise man the same question.
Again the wise man asked him “What kind of people live in your village?”
The traveller replied, “The people are very kind, courteous, polite and good.”
The wise man said, “You will find the same kind of people here too.”
Questions: These are only examples.

The students should underline the nouns in the story. Here you do not have to use the word noun. Just give examples: traveller, wise man, village, etc.
Now tell them if there is more than one villager, you would add an ‘s’ to villager to form villagers.
So: I read a book. We read many books.
I have one brother and two sisters.
Do many examples of the plural
being made by adding an ‘s.’
Now move on to plurals being constructed by adding ‘es’ to the singular.
One box and two boxes.
You can also introduce some irregular plural constructions that are common in everyday speech:
Man–Men
Woman–Women
Child- Children
Person—People
The homework assignment is up to you. Maybe you can get your mentee to write a story with the same theme as the one above.
